Green Jumper Day at Spofforth School

4th Mar 2024 | Posted In Spofforth

Children at Spofforth wore their green jumpers (and socks, hairbands, t-shirts!) on the 1st March for our Green Jumper Day. We wore our jumpers to remind us about how much we need to care for the environment. Each class turned down their radiators a little and kept warm in their jumpers. We also had a half hour switch off to save electricity. We turned off the lights and all our electrical equipment. At the end of the day each class made paper chains using the scrap paper we had collected during the day. At Spofforth we care about our planet, it was great to have a day to remind us of all the things we can do to help it.

Class 4 Fundraiser at Spofforth School

29th Jan 2024 | Posted In Spofforth

Thank you so much to everyone who sent in donations for our fundraising day on Friday 26th January. We were blown away with how enthusiastic the children were and how independently they ran their stalls. They interacted with all the children across the school brilliantly and managed to raise an amazing £287 for the Harrogate Homeless Project!! This is a huge achievement, especially as most of the items sold were only charged at 50p. It was fantastic to see them working together and taking responsibility in order to support such a worthy cause. We were very proud of all of them. Well done Class 4!”
