Uniform

School Uniform Expectations – Information for children and parents.

Follifoot School

Children should wear school uniform. They should wear a suitable combination from the list below:

Girls:

  • Grey pinafore dress/skirt/trousers
  • Plain white polo shirt (with or without school logo)
  • Plain royal blue school sweatshirt/cardigan (with or without school logo)
  • Plain grey or white socks
  • Plain grey tights
    Plain black shoes
  • Practical and simple plain hair accessories only e.g. hair band, bobbles to keep hair out of eyes. No decorative hair accessories.

From the start of the summer term until October half terms girls may also ear a light blue gingham summer dress.

Boys:

  • Plain grey trousers or shorts
  • Plain white polo shirt (with or without school logo)
  • Plain royal blue school sweatshirt (with or without school logo)
  • Plain grey socks
  • Plain black shoes

P.E. Uniform:

  • Plain royal blue round neck t-shirt (with or without school logo)
  • Plain royal blue PE hoodie (with or without school logo)
  • Plain navy tracksuit bottoms
  • Plain navy shorts or ‘skort’
  • Clean trainers

PE uniform can be worn to school on a PE day.

Swimwear and towel for years 3&4 in a waterproof bag.

Most of these items are available from local chain stores. The school sweatshirt and polo shirts embroidered with the school logo are available from Emblazon & Rawcliffes in Harrogate. Book bags printed with the school logo are also available.

All KS2 children require a painting overall – a cut-down man’s shirt is ideal.

Coats

Children will play outside in light rain and in cold temperatures. Children should have warm waterproof coat. School does not have the staffing capacity to keep children in side school during outdoor play if they do not have a coat.

All the above items MUST be clearly marked with the child’s name. Ideally they will have name labels or the child’s name written in permanent fabric marker that does not wash out.

Jewellery

No jewellery should be worn.  National Guidance states that jewellery of any kind (including earrings and ear studs) should be removed for Physical Education lessons because of the danger of injury to the wearer and/or other pupils in the class.  It is not safe to cover earrings/studs/sleepers with tape.

Changes from previous years.

We have moved towards just the plain white polo shirt (with or without school logo) rather than blue and white. If children still have blue polo shirts that fit them and can be used this is perfectly acceptable. We request that future purchases of polo shirts are white only.

Spofforth School

All items of clothing, footwear and bags should be clearly labelled with your child’s name.  If you would like to support the PTA you can click here to order Stickins name labels and raise money for the school PTA.

Children are encouraged to wear school uniform; our school colours are navy blue and grey and the uniform consists of:

Navy blue sweatshirt, cardigan or fleece

White or blue polo top / open neck shirt

Grey or navy blue skirt or pinafore dress / trousers

Girls blue & white checked dress (in summer)

Most of these items are available from local chain stores. The school sweatshirt and fleece, embroidered with the school logo, are available from Kool Kidz in Wetherby; however this is not a requirement.  Book bags printed with the school logo are also available.

PE Kit

Pair of shorts/jogging bottoms and a tee shirt (navy and white)

Pair of plimsolls or trainers (for outdoor PE when weather permits)

Printed and embroidered PE tee shirts and hoodies are also available from Kool Kidz in Wetherby but again, are not a requirement.

PE uniform can be worn to school on a PE day.

Jewellery

The wearing of jewellery (other than one pair of stud earrings) is entirely unsuitable during school hours.  Apart from the risk of loss, these items present safety problems to the wearers and others. Earring studs must be removed for PE.
